This led to great discussion on how the sun moves throughout the day. They started tracing, went to play, came back and noticed the shadows were different and some gone all together.

Picking our veggies for lunch is one of our favorite things to do.

How does toddler school work?
I introduce topics to the kids little by little while we play! Today, at the light table they were all in awe of the lights and colors, moving things around, stacking, watching the cups tumble to the floor (that’s hysterical in case you didn’t know 😉 ) I then started asking them to hand me a blue letter, then a green one, then red….then we piled all the same colors together, seeing which color we had more of (sorting and counting). We did this for a good 20 min. Some lost interest quicker than others and that’s ok, they still were watching and listening as they switched gears to floor play. After they all seemed done with the light table, I mentioned painting with the colors that matched our letters – they all agreed. More color work, mixing colors to make new colors and a lesson on sharing paint colors 😁
We read a story about kindness and sharing your smile with people you see.
We finished up our morning with some positive affirmations – “I am amazing” and they couldn’t help but grin when they said it to themselves.
I seen this ⬇️⬇️posted the other day and loved it. I wish I could remember who said it…..
“Remember, we are raising a child, a whole child. We’re raising a mind, a body, a heart & a soul – not just a brain on a seat.”
